Help 2.5 Years Siddaramayya Nelagudda is diagnosed with Beta Thalassemia. He underwent Matched Sibling Donor Haploidentical Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) on 23/02/2024, for treatment of this disease with his brother being the donor. He has developed severe venom occlusive disease of liver (VOD) a complication of HSCT. He is sick and having respiratory distress requiring high flow nasal canula (oxygen support). He has received treatment with High dose Methylprednisolone, Albumin, diuretics, and other supportive measures. He is currently critical and admitted in the hospital due to water filled in his lungs. He is in urgent need of DEFIBROTIDE an FDA approved drug for VOD, which is not manufactured in India. Per cost of single injection is Rs 75000. Hospital can however arrange this medicine. The cost of 10 vials is six lakh rupees. Siddaramayya require another 2-3 weeks of hospital admission. The approximate cost of which is Rs.8,00,000/- to Rs.10,00,000 (Rupees eight lakh to ten lakh rupees only) in view of the complications the child is having.
